New Grill & Bumper Inserts Installed

Two weeks ago I finally received my flip up mirrors to replace my standard mirrors. The anticipation and expectations were high after waiting for weeks for them to come in off back order.

Installation was a snap. Mirrors looked great!

Unfortunately within 200 miles the passenger mirror would not hold its position. :( Within the next 100 miles, it really failed to hold position, the whole mirror fell out of the housing.

The mirror assembly is held on to the housing with a jamb nut like they used to use on coaster wagons! It just slides over a piece of plastic that protrudes from the housing. For the price of these mirrors, the quality sure isn't there.

A replacement is supposed to be in within the next couple of days, but I have serious concerns about my decision to go with the Mopar mirrors as aposed to some of the others on the market!

Please tell me I just have rotten luck and got the one rotten apple from the barrel!

I got a kick out of the name of your thread. :D

Its Dodge going to give you a new one N/C?

Maybe it was just a bad mirror.

The Muth Signal Mirrors are neat too.

Hang in there Silver! Mine were stock on the truck. 23K+ not even a vibration. Surely you just had a bad one. Once on, you love em!!

Silver Ratler, if you decide you want to go a different route you may want to consider the new generation Power Vision mirrors. I just installed a set on my Ram several weeks ago and they look AWESOME! Of course they are electrically adjustable, extendable and are heated. What more could one want?

:)

Hey guys check these out Power Vision I have thought that these have always been a good idea for you guys that pull those monster trailers and need to still see out back :D

You just had a bad mirror. I have a hard time getting people to adjust my passenger side mirror because it is so stiff. I just wish it was stiff enough that the car wash wouldn't move it.

Silver Ratler,

My 2500 is about a month old. I have the factory tow mirrors as well. After about 2 days of driving, the passenger side mirror did just as yours, fell out, and I had it replaced by the dealer. After about 2000 miles, the DRIVER side mirror did the SAME THING and I just had it replaced yesterday. All of this in under 2000 miles along with a defective seat belt buckle, no hood insulation, no rear cup holders, and a crooked steering wheel (no wander, wheel needed adjusting) Fortunately, all was corrected by my dealer, who has been A-1 so far, very understanding and hassle-free.

However, all of this makes me very disappointed in Dodge's craft and workmanship. Maybe Cummins will be offered in a Ford in the future.

Still love my Cummins though!
