I received my guages from Geno's today. Very nice setup. All I had time for today was to mount the unit and left the wires coiled under the dash.

My questions are...

Does the boost feed get tapped into the tube that feeds the intake?

Where's the best place to mount the pyro pyro probe AND can it be drilled and tapped without removing the manifold? (yes, I know the turbo has to come off)

The manifold can be drilled in place and the turbo doesn't need to be removed. Drill most of the way through, remove the chips then apply grease to the bit and drill a little more. Clean grease drill, clean grease drill, get the idea? Chips stick to grease rather than falling in hole. After you get it tapped sweep with a magnet on a stick and install pyro. S'all good :)

I used a boost bolt that came with the other items from Geno's. Your gauge should have come with some supplementary instructions on how to do this. I ran the hose from the boost bolt throught the plastic wire holder that runs over the engine. I hid the pyrometer wire in there, too. It just unclips and you can lay everything inside.

Yes, the pyro can be drilled and tapped w/o removing anything. I did it that way. I used an angle drill and a magnet. Held the magnet to the bit to collect the shavings as I drilled by the #3 cylinder (not an ideal location, #5 gets the hottest). I then greased the tap and cleaned it often while tapping. I used a magnet to collect shavings from inside the hole, and finally applied never-seize to the pyro.

Turbo's still together after 20k miles.

If you want to use the best place, it's just above the turbo where #5 dumps in. You have to lower the turbo and place a piece of cardboard or something to keep shavings from going into the turbo.

That's where I'll place the pyro for my TST

OK I see the boost bolt assuming it's the 2-peice brass fitting that was supplied but I can't find instructions on where to mount it. Which bolt does it replace? Does there need to be anything on the threads such as thread sealer?

Duh... ... I'm a freakin genius tonight. I found the instructions. They were in a bag behind the catalogue they sent me. Hell, I got this far without instructions, I may as well wing it the rest of the way:)

You're on a roll!

With the good advice the guys gave you above, you probably don't even need them!

How are thing up there in Jax? Did the tropical storm Tammy miss you all?

The boost bolt will replace a manifold bolt. Is that what you have or just a 1/8" NPT compression fitting?
