Hi all

I've got an 05 Laramie with automatic door locks that lock at 15+ mph.

What I want to know is can I have them lock at 15 mph and unlock when I open the drivers door? I've read the

manual and it looks like I can but it doesn't work . I can turn the auto lock part on and off only.

Thanks for any help. :)

if you have a manual transmission it might not be possible. Last time I looked for that very issue, it seemed that none of the people with standard transmission could get it to work.

That was same first question I had. Since then, there have been a few threads on the subject. It seems not to work with the 6-sp. The manual says that for the feature to work, the truck has to be in Park and I think that is why it does not work on 6-sps. That is something that was either missed or they decided that there was no way to ensure a "safe" arrangement to allow the doors to unlock. It kind of irritates me but I am almost now in the habit of unlocking all the doors when I get out. Still once in a while I forget and I walk around the truck and find the doors locked.

Thanks for the replys . Thats a bummer, yes I have the 6 spd. I noticed the reference to park but thought I would ask anyway.

Thanks again

i wonder if that could be set to be triggered by the parking brake being set?

[yeah, half the time i forget to unlock my doors when i go to work and try to get my lunch cooler out of the rear]

hmm, that's a good idea. Assuming the harness is the same for auto and manual, we'd have to find the wire that is used to detect the "ParK" setting and hook it up to the parking brake sensor wire. Good homework assignment. When it's not so bloody hot outside, I may try to crawl under and take a look-see. Anybody know which wire to look for for the "Automatic Park" sensor?
