Greetings everyone. I am a long time reader and today is my first

thread. I can't say enough about the forum and the tech stuff.

I LOVE TORQUE!!

Welcome Mike! I was reading your other post and I dont think you should hear anything from the rear end. You may want to get it looked at.

Rear main seal

Not familiar with whine problem, but my rear main seal went at 350 miles, <2 days after I got it.

Replaced after a week in the dealership, (wrong part, no diesel mech available, etc)

I'm told that it is not uncommon.

Apparently, there was some type of assembly line problem with some of the engines.

Don't waste time, soon you'll be smelling the oil burning on the clutch plates.

Good luck.

Bob

Thanks guys.

Ref. the rear main seal, the dealer said that the way the seal is made/designed, it cannot leeak oil onto the clutch. I've done several gas engine clutches, but never a CTD. Any ideas???
