i have a B&W Companion hitch which is a ***** too use with the air suspension. Very touchy hooking and unhooking. Always problems. Used to have a bar type hitch, for 18 years and got used to it. Does anybody know of a replacement bar type head for the Companion hitch?

AW my friend, I will share info with you that will make your day! You will owe me a cold one if we meet along life's highway.

Before unhooking go into "settings", hit "suspension then select "tire jack mode". Best part is when you are done the truck will stay in Alt Ride Mode.

Never had an issue hooking. but the same would apply if you want to try it.

Once you do as I suggest you will come to the light and see the companion is by bar the BEST, simplest hitch to use on the market.

i go to tire jack mode but it still follows the hitch up.

Interesting. Then set it to transport mode. By doing that it will go to regular ride mode after unhitching, I don't like that. Believe me your issue has NOTHING to do with your hitch.

Are you lifting your truck? Pay close attention to when there is a small gap between the kingpin and hitch plates. are you using a 1/4" lube plate? If so buy a Hensley or any 1/8" plate so you can see when you have taken the weight off. I know the Tire Jack mode works, so I am thinking some of the other things I mentioned will help you.

Report back!
