I happend to recieve two of them in the mail today. Installed #1 in my Dads truck for fathers day. It took about 40 minutes to install and works great so far.

The second one went in my truck. Took about 20 minutes to install and it too works great. Dads truck is a 98. 5 and mine is a 2001 so I think they work on the spectrum of 24 valve trucks.

I put mine in the ash tray to hide it and keep the truck looking neat, Dad put his beside his brake controller, it looks good there to.

Then instructions were fantastic and very complete. I think anyone with a set of metric sockets could install it.

I am completly happy and could post some pics of the installiation if any one is interested.

Please feel free to email me if you all have more questions.

Just as a side note, Gordon at PS was great, he shipped the items I orderd before he got my $$. What fantastic customer service and trust.

I also received the high idle controller and the replacement pulley this past week. Two very high quality products that work just as advertised. Very good install instructions as well. The only thing I could see as an improvement would be the addition of pictures to the install instructions. The controller works very well. Starts at idle (800 rpm's) up to 1550 rpm's.

:) :D ;) :p

Just curious as to what is involved in the high idler installation. Does it require wire splicing/tapping go or does it plug in or ???

Also, how do you activate/set it?

Thanks!

Steve

Zman,

The installation of the idle control module is very simple. Follow the instructions and you can't go wrong. Everything is Plug -n- Play. No wires to splice or cut !

:D

Does anyone have a picture of this idle controller? I did a search for practical solutions on the web, but it came back with over 60,000 responses. Anyone know their web address?

I have one sitting here, haven't gotten to install it yet due to work and the weather (my truck don't fit in the garage).

Instructions seem complete and easy to understand. The only thing that I don't like is where they suggest you mount it. I am looking around for an alternate mounting location, because I don't want it to be seen basically.

But Gordon's service is great. Anxiously awaiting to get it installed.

The correct URL is Practical Solutions Website

Here is a picture from their website. Not the "greatest" image but all thats available. Maybe its time for me to get a digital camara... ... .

Kat,

I have the Nonadjustable High Idler and mounted mine on top of the PDC cover with the velcro and it is great:D

However, if stealth is what your looking for I think there would be more than enough harness to locate it at the fender well just below the PDC main harness.

Just so ya know, the "adjustable" idler goes inside the cab. You turn it on while a "Rotary switch" which is also how you raise and lower the idle. They suggest mounting it on top of the steering wheel base with velcro.

Thanks for the info, and sugestion tho :)

Kat,

Thanks for the correction. After closely looking at the photo above, I see the "Rotary Switch". I wonder if it would be too much of a hassle to extend the harness and mount it in the overhead console. That is if, you are not using it for a garage door opener.

If you are a non-smoker the control box fits real nice inside the ash tray. All you have to do is drill a hole in the back to pass the wire harness through. I think it looks real good hidden in the butt tray.
