If Cars Were Computers

I bought a Ford/6.0...

Anyone have any experience with adjusting the speed of the 3 point hitch and loader hydraulics? I can see the adjustments for the two hydraulic boxes on the rear of the tractor for implements. I wanted to be able to speed up the 3pt hitch and make some adjustments to the loader.

Thanks,

JM

If it is like our JDs it will have an adjusting knob somewhere. Have you got a manual to it? Might just call a New Holland dealer and talk to their service manager.

I was looking for an adjustment knob like our JDs have, but I wasn't able to locate anything. Unfortunately, we don't have a manual for it so I'm shooting in the dark. This is for a friend of mine and he just asked me if I had any ideas.

Extra info on the loader, it looks like it's hooked directly into the tractor hydraulic system (not plugged into remote connections). The lines coming off the tractor go into the wobble stick control that directly drives the valves on the lines. I'm thinking that the only way to increse the speed is to change the orifice size in the connection to the system or speed up the entire hydraulic system on the tractor. Even though this is connected this way, I still expected to find a seperate adjustment for 3pt speed.

Your best bet it to go over to ytmag.com and ask at the forum. Those guys know everything there is to know about tractors. The forum software is a little outdated but your answers will be great!

Good luck!

Aggie,

The loader hookup on the NH soulds similar to the hookup on our 6400 JD. The loader does not plug into the remotes in the back, but rather the hoes are screwed in. There are speed adjustments on the remotes at the bottom of the unit where the hoses screw in on our JD 6400. The hoses that screw in go to a joystick control valve in the cab that controls all loader movement. The hoses go from this valve to the frame on the right side of the tractor. There are quick coupler mounts on the loader mounting frame so the loader can be removed with ease and the hydraulics for the loader stay intacted on the tractor.

The 3-point speed is controlled electronically by a knob in the cab in the 3-point control cluster. I can give more detail if you want on what is in this cluster of controls. On the JD about all you can change on the 3-point speed is the rate of drop. The upward travel of the 3-point is not settable, but it comes up very fast.

I will bet the NH is similar to our JD 6400. Hope this helps.
