congratulations mike... i just took delivery of mine 2 weeks ago,and its GREAT!!!what size/model did u get???. . i have a 2001 26' Alumascape RKD. i took mine on a weekend "shakedown cruise" last weekend, everything worked well except the TV booster... i later discovered that 2 of the coaxial cables were hooked up to the wrong positions. that was easy enough to diagnose and fix,now it works beautifully... good luck, hope to see you at May Madness... tom

Good luck with your new rigs. I've noticed that some of you guys have 4x4s. Do you have any problem with the clearance between the bed rails and camper? I have a 26' 5er, axles under springs, front of trailer too high when hooked to truck, and still hits if not careful. The camper dealer in my area told me the 5er's hitch heights are all the same. I'm not so sure. Camper doesn't tow that great as is, too much weight on rear axle. Any suggestions? I thought about making a sub frame between the original frame and axles. Didn't measure height to top of camper yet, so I'm not sure if I have the room.

Congrats Mike and Tom on the new 5ers. A couple months ago, I picked up a new Alumascape 25RKS TT that I'll be dragging down to MM. Weather has been so crummy that I haven't been able to get it out for a shakedown trip yet... Maybe next weekend. Look for you at MM.

Sorry for the delay. Picked the 5er up Saturday. Ive been busy ever since cleaning and loading. Ive found a couple of minor flaws but Ive already fixed them. ITS GREAT!!!Im glad I made the decision on the HR. They are well built inside and out. Its the 30SCD Presidential double slide. Has a 9900lb dry weight and a GVW of 12500. There is defintely a difference in the way it handles compared to a bumper pull. Cant wait for the 1st trip and vacation to MM. BTW,pulled the TT down as a trade. Empty it weighs 6400 lbs. Averaged between 10 and 12 MPGs. Same road pulling the 5er I was getting the same MPGs.
