Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) New IAT Sensor/Lower EGT

Anyone else notice lower EGTs when they put a new IAT sensor in? I got anywhere from 50-100 degree drop in EGT with the new sensor I put in this weekend. Can't wait to see what difference in MPG will be measured at the pump, I know my trip computer already shows higher.



Makes me wonder if replacing the MAP sensor with a fresh one would have similar beneficial results... ... ...

What was the milage on the old one???

I gained over 2 mpg when towing when I changed mine, normal driveing did not change any. Without going back and looking over my records I think it was closer to 2. 8 mpg increase towing.

Don't know but I suspect it's been in there since the build date. The truck has 75k on it.

Maybe it's time to do mine I have 217k on the original. Ive cleaned it a couple of times and it seems to be alright
