OK,

Where is the replacement in tank pusher pump? I have a feeling that 11,000 miles and mine is about to go. I have gauges but they are not installed yet, no time. The last two times I have started the truck when cold there is a noise like the pusher pump for a few seconds and then it goes off. With the truck running or starting it up after it is warm I hear nothing.

No I will not take it to the lot monkeys to fix a DC mistake. One dent is not worth it.

There is no pump in the tank on your truck, the only pump you have is the lift pump on the side of the block to feed the injector pump. It is just to the rear of the ECM, below and behind the fuel filter. More than likely what you hear on a cold start is the power steering pump whine. The lift pump is impossible to hear with the engine running, you can hear it though if you bump the starter without starting the engine. It will run for a few seconds. Hope this helps.

Yep, I know that. It would appear that someone would make one that would not fail. My problem was a case of the stupids. My wipers had lots of snow/ice on them and it was the wipers making bad noise. They shut off about the same time the lift pump quits too... The snow/ice is gone and so is my noise(boy do I feel dumb). :p
