Got a new set of infinity speakers to replace the ones that had stopped working in my truck. Replaced both of them (in the front doors) and the passenger side works but the drivers side doesnt. Checked the plugs in the door opening and there was a big brown wire in the middle of one that was loose... . Fixed that and the locks & windows started working again like they're supposed to, but not the speaker. Any other ideas where i should check. I know the speaker is good, because it worked on the passenger side when I tested it there. Any ideas are apprecieated.

Thanks

Craig

Harness?

So... replace the entire door wire harness? It has wires going to the speakers, mirrors, door locks etc. Think that might solve it?

Thanks

Craig

Depends how involved you want to get. you can usually just cut out a foot or 2 of the wires where it goes from the cab to the door they usually break right where they bend. Personally I would do it that way first just to double check that is where the problem is and then decide if you want or have to go any further

can you use a temp jumper from the connector to the speaker to 'test' each lead? I haven't had the need to dig into the door wiring yet, but i don't look forward to it!
