New injector pump was installed at a dealership and now the mileage sucks. 2001 3500 use to get around 20 to 23 on a gallon now lucky to get 17,any suggestions would help.:

Never go to dealership for such work! Is this a 6 speed stick? What gears? Is power down?

Welcome to the forum.

Was any other work done at the same time?

It's possible they installed an incorrect fuel injection pump. Your answers to SnoKing's questions will us help determine that.

Does the truck seem like it runs the same or maybe down on power?
It is possible to be off on the timing but it would be very noticeable in the way the truck runs.

Hopefully the dealership used the pump key that came with the new pump, and put it in the right way...reusing the old one or putting it in wrong could cause a loss in mileage, sometimes it causes drivability issues too.

Secondly hopefully the dealer used a quality Bosch certified pump.
