Fianlly, after waiting three months, I got my new pump installed yesterday. The original had started leaking. My original dealer couldn't find the source of the leak and along with STAR was hesitant to replace the pump until they could find the leak. I took it to another dealer and the mechanic there found it within about 15 minutes and had a new one on order.
First impressions:
Lower noise. More power. Less black smoke. Smoother acceleration. Better starting.
I think as the old pump was really put to work, it was sucking air. The new one makes for a much stronger engine.
