On my way to bombing. #ad
Problem is I don't know which way to go. #ad
Either I get a VA or EZ box, or I get new injectors? I can't do both because I don't want to crack open the transmission with 2100 miles on it to do the necessary upgrades(I. E. Torque Converter).
I do know i'm looking to get more pep in the 1200 - 2000 RPM range to push my 295's
thanx in advance. #ad

One way to answer your own question is to look at some dyno charts, study the torque and horsepower curves of the various products. Try BD's site or DieselDynamic's site.

Seems that I remember that the DD3s top out about 2700rpm, the VA at about 2200rpm, and I've never looked at the EZ charts.

The above numbers are from memory... I am sure I will be corrected, if wrong!

I'd rather be... .
Cummin than Strokin.

It would also depend on if you want to do some/or pay for labor. About 2-3 hrs for replacing injectors, I'm not sure on the hook up EZ box(I heard it was a plug-in)and 5-10 minutes for VA/Plug'n'Power...

The thing that is great about the VA and the EZ is the availability of getting it off in 2 minutes to return the engine to stock in the unlikely event you need warranty work. I have run a VA for over a year and have just installed an EZ with boost elbow. Either one will give you a great bottom end. Those 2 units are the best SINGLE upgrade to an engine and still be able to keep in warranty without getting into a gale force urinating contest with a hard nose dealer.

The VA turns big tires very well. I think it will overpower the TC clutch at less than 1600 rpm though.

LSMITH said it best. Eventually the transmission will have to be addressed. Once you start adding power mods, you'll want more.
Turning big tires, and adding more power will take its toll on the transmission.

If you must, start with the EZ or VA. The 275 injectors are cheaper, but not as potent. Now both together, that is really nice, except your transmission won't like it too much.
