I'm very happy i paid the extra $ for the larger display. Actually went a little nuts and had a new 6 ch amp installed with sub woofer. I had installed new speakers myself and had the guys doing the install really install them - sound deadening material around the speakers and the like. And they tuned the system for me using an oscope not their ears. I'm very happy I spent the money.

I got the DMX1037S version. It can be ugraded with NAV, cameras, sat radio etc.

Yeah Just discovered Satin Jackets recently - thats the great thing about spotify really expands your horizons

Local audio shop had one installed in a caddy convertible. So they procured it for me.

It is a real real good head unit.

I installed one of these in my 04. Very, very happy with it. Added a reverse camera built into the tailgate handle, but the unit has an input for 4 cameras IIRC. Apple car play is nice, as is voice command, text read, NAV...most all items that a more modern vehicle would have.
Install was fairly straightforward. It needs the VSS wire input but a quick interweb search found that. I paid a few bucks extra to have Crutchfield build me a custom wire harnes so it was almost plug and play. I had to find the aforementioned VSS wire, and the parking brake wire.
There is also a plastic "ridge" that needs to be removed from behind the head unit from the dash. I spent some extra time getting that cut just right so the head unit can sit on it for support which makes for a very solid mount. The GPS antenna is under the dash cover- very easy placement.
This unit keeps the truck much more relevant as far as modern electronics go. Not cheap, but very expandable if needed.
