Hi, I'm the new kid and I just got registered! I have loved cummins powered rams since I was 14 years old! I am 20 now and about a month 1/2 ago I finally got one! Its a '93 and I love it to death. I will not drive anything else until they dont make them any more (hopefully never) and there isn't any still running (probably never!). I gotta save up some $$$ for the great BOMBING now (not that I think mine needs anymore power already)

Welcome aboard Wirenut. You have a great truck and this is a great site. I was in your spot a few months ago and you'll find, if you haven't already, that the hot ticket is to put in new injectors and actually turn the pump DOWN. I did this with injectors from Wentland Diesel where POWER WAGON, a 2nd gen moderator, works. Others have used BD and JRE and (somebody correct me if I'm wrong about this) everyone that's made the change loves the performance increase. It's better than turned up pump, exhaust, K&N filter and turbo housing changes put together.

Again welcome to the First Generation block (or, if you will, 'hood).

PW injectors.

Thanks Mark! I might have shop for some injectors first thing. I didn't really know that that was one of the best performance mods. Its probably easy and inexpensive too!
thanx

Wirenut,

Welcome! You are going to find that these guys are a big help when it comes to problems or getting more power. I've only been a member since March and have already recieved tons of help on some items I have posted.

Hello Wirenut:
You've made a great choice with the '93. The '92 and '93 are the premium of the 1st Gen trucks thru the evolutionary changes to the Cummins motor.
Take some time to read thru the previous 1st Gen posts, and the archived ones. These contain a power load of tech info, and add up to a great guide to any "enhancements".
There's some accurate info regarding the proper recommended steps, and logical order to upgrades, too.
I'll recommend a good set of boost and pyro gages as the first step.
The 1st Gen forum, as you'll see, is home to quite a few folks of knowledge who have upgraded, or modified their Cummins powered trucks, and rely on them as their daily drivers. This is the BIG DEAL, as their trucks roll them to their work, and their play, with reliable POWER.
Dig in, and have fun.

Wirenut!

I saw that handle, so I checked your profile... 20 and an electrician, eh? I'm in the same field as you. I'll be a jouneyman this September, already got 2+ years in! I'll be 21 next month, and I am already on my second new Ram. Gotta love the electrical business!

Anyways, glad toy have you aboard!
