new knocking noise

Lately my 97 has developed an unusual knock. It happens at light throttle settings, and at idle. Under full power you can't hear it. Sounds like one cylinder is much louder than the others. Could this be a bad injector? I am hoping it is not a pump problem.

I think it's an injector. Put some additive in the fuel that cleans injectors,some say a double dose for he first time then work the truck hard for awhile,cruise over a Cascade pass with a load. Probably just a carboned up injector. You can find out which one it is by cracking open the injection lines one at time.

I had a knock in my engine that was driving me crazy until I found the problem. It turned out that one of my injectors had a very slight weep and was causing the knock at low speed and idle. After tightening the knock was gone. Use a 15/16" crows foot wrench.
