As my truck gets to it's tenth year, it still looks pretty good, except for the bumper plastic. It had turned a dingy grey from the sun and lots of waterspots. I had used those slimy restoring goops on other vehicles and it looked okay, but didn't last. Stumbled across this the other day...

YouTube - Using a heat gun to restore automotive plastics

Figuring I had nothing to lose, I whipped out the heat gun, and in about twenty minutes, it and the spoiler look almost new. Who would have thought!

That's an old motocross bike trick to get scratched, dull bike plastics looking newer again. Never considered it for car and truck bumpers, but why not?

Or you can do like i did, and replace the whole front assembly after a deer pics you to commit suicide on. Randy:-laf:-laf

How exactly does it work?

How exactly does it work, and how long will it last? I could use this on the wifes jeep. The side moldings look like ***. Im going to try it.

Thanks for the tip.

I did it and and it looks several times better, sent a picture half done half not done and told him I cleaned up the bumper and didn't even touch it. He called me right back to see how I had done that. ED

I have no idea how/why it works, it must be FM(friggin magic:D) It looks 100 per cent better and dust doesn't stick to it like with the wipe on chemicals. We'll just have to wait and see how long it lasts.
