My 2001 was getting around 600 miles per tank and 19-20 MPG. After the dealership installed a new injection pump and the in-tank lift pump, I'm now getting around 15MPG and a noticeable decrease in power. I did not install a fuel pressure gage until later but currently I barely have 9psi at idol and it drops to 2 during heavy acceleration. Are their any remedies for this?

Sounds like they botched the install. The in-tank pump should have no issues holding 6-8 psi under full throttle with stock power. Reason why most people simply do not like to take a chance with in-tank install and go with their favorite external pump.

Not sure why you have the fuel pressure issue but as far as the injection pump if power is down it sounds like they may have put an SO pump on your HO motor. I just reread your signature,is it an HO truck? I have seen it before and it really cuts the power back. If you can find some part numbers off the pump I am sure someone on here will know if it is the right pump.

Thank you both. The intake lift pump went in when I was less educated and the dealership never told me that they were relocating the lift pump anyway. I will have to look into the pump to see if its the correct one.

According to the dealership, Chrysler does not have the techs measuring the psi they measure the fuel volume. They told me that the volume is flowing within the proper levels. So I'm of the understanding that the fuel pressure means nothing and we are all wrong for monitoring it (note my sarcasm). They offered no explanation as to why after the new injection and lift pump were installed, why I would lose power and fuel economy.

You don't have enough fuel if it is only holding 2 psi under hard acceleration, no matter what the clowns at the dealer say. Dodge has never adhered to Bosch recommendations on supply or filtration and all it does is cause issues. If the in-tank pump is the same as teh 3rd gen one the install was botched or the pump is bad.

An SO pump on an HO is going to cause issues also, you need to verify what you have and take it back if they pooched the pump install. Hold their feet to the fire, there is no excuse for the results you see considering all that is known and solid fact.
