Boy, it's hard to get registered here.

I've got a '93 D350 with 115k miles. I just put the 16 turbo housing on and tweeked the pump some. It runs better, but I need more. Greedy, right?
I'm a little concerned about the injector pump. It started some time ago, that it wouldn't shut down when I turn off the switch. I would have to open the hood and flip the fuel shut-oo manually. I took out the shutdown solenoid and the plunger had some metal debris on it. I cleaned it up, put it back together and it worked fine... fo a few weeks. Then the same thing again.
Is my pump disentegrating?
It runs pretty good now, but what about tomorrow?
I usually use this truck to pull a racecar in an enclosed trailer(24'), and when the weather is hot, the truck is a dog. I haven't pulled since I put the housing on though.
Any suggestions?
Whit

Welcome Whit!

A memeber had his pmp do the same thing and it meant anew pump was needed.

The hot tip for performance is injectors (Power Wagon/Bosch, JRE, BD, ect) and not just turning the pump up because it gets overloaded trying t squeeze the extra fuel through the tiny stock injector nozzles.

I 2nd the injectors. They are the best way to get power and they're not too hard to switch. Another thing is a 12cm turbo housing. I havent got mine yet, but thats just another "good" thing. Dont forget a good set of gauges too!

Whit,
That happend to me on my last pump i thought is was the selinoid and replaced it, but a week later the same thing started happening, itook the pump in for a check and there where broken rollers and the cam plate was chewed up, i was lucky no other damage was done, i would sugest a rebuild ASAP before it becomes unrepairable, install a set of hi pro. injectorers B&D, JRE ect. the all seem to preform quit well.
before the injectors i was running 2+ turns on the fuel screw and that led to the demise of my first pump, with the JRE injectors i'm running the screw 1/2 turn past stock and have alot more power at a more usable range.
I hope this helps
Rick
