New Member! What is ETH/DEE?

I am a new member and have many questions of course, and would like to extend my thanks (already got my 35. 00 worth) for all of the questions I've already had answered by the many informative folks here! Glad to be aboard.

Now my first question: What is ETH/DEE?

One more: My dealer did not give me the correct owner's manual for this rig, (on order), what is the correct shut down procedure? I am a volunteer fireman and have to run my truck fast and hard on a moment's notice and shut it down just as quick when I arrive at the f/house; other than waiting for the oil pressure gauge to come up after startup, what kind of shut down procedures for this application as well as normal driving (non-towing) should I be following? Thanks for any assistance!

BTW, I tried to search on ETH/DEE but since it is mentioned in so many forums I cannot get a specific answer to what it stands for.

ETH/DEE is the order number for the HO motor with the 6-speed. One funny thing about that is the HO motor is only available with the 6-speed but they add $400. As far as your shut down proc. goes, I just wait until my turbo cools down. Should be around 400 degrees. If you don't have a pyro guage just ease up on the throttle about a block from home and that should be enough. IMHO

I'm also a Vol. Firefighter/EMT and the best thing I got was an automatic starter. Brings the oil pressure up and gets me slightly warmed up while I'm getting dressed to head out the door.

The next thing I'm looking at getting is a turbo timer. (I think that's what it's called #ad
) This keeps the truck running after you shut it down for a specified time between 1 and 5 minutes to cool the turbo down.
