I'm a Tech for a Cummins distributor in the San Diego, CA area. I know the factory stock B5. 9 and the ISB real well but nothing when it comes to all the modifications you guys are doing. I find my self glue to my computer reading all the discussions and taking notes. I know the basics of how the P7100 works but I'm having a hard time understanding what a "plate" is and its function in the pump. Any direction into understanding the mods would help.

Any one in the San Diego area with a problem or in need of a helping hand I'm here to help. Special tools, Manuals, no problem.

Oo.

I currently don't own a Ram and this is where I need some advise. One of the service trucks has come up for sale, 96 2500 SLT ext cab with long bed and 188k miles, its getting replace by a 2002 3500. The price for us is $8500 and $10600 for any one else. Maint has been kept up. The Eng is in good conditions, front seal and vac pump mounting gasket are leaking, Exh gaskets about to leak. Nothing I can't do on a Saturday morning. My main concern is the Trany. First overhaul was done at 90k but its seems to be slipping under heavy load. I want to keep the Eng stock for a while, budget is tight. The seats recliners/back-rest do not lock and the passanger side moves forward during hard braking. The paint and body is clean, interior a little durty but no rips or heavy wear. Flow master and some mods to the pump, believe to have been done by the Tech who drove it, transfer locations. Air bags on rear springs and coil shocks. Is this a good price and who can help me on the trany and seats?

Fuel Plate

A fuel plate dictates the amount of fuel your pump allows the injectors. As boost increases the follower on the fuel plate moves along the contour and changes your fueling.

I need a parts manuel for my truck so I may try to contact you.

BTW, $8500 for the truck, no brainer, snap it up quick. The truck will go much more then twice that mileage before engine work is necessary. You will have to invest in some transmission help. I'd say go with a aftermarket performance transmission complete.

Go for it! But remember that to do the transmission right will probably bring the price up to the $10600 level, still a good deal.

I agree, who cares what repairs are needed. $8500 bucks is dirt cheap and even after the price for repairs, you're in it far less than anyone.

Grab it, and when trans time comes around check out DTT in the links section, they do an awsome job of making those trans work under large power increases and their customer service is great.

It looks like I'll be taking ownership of the truck this Friday. I wish it was a 4X4 even if my insuranse was that much higher. I have another question, a few week ago before I was a member I was looking at a list of discussion forums broken down by category and now I can't find it. Can any one guide me to them?:(

Thats not it. The list I was looking at was broken down by category of the truck, as in brakes, steering, cooling, eng and no it wasn't the TSB section. Archives???
