After local DC dealer charges of $129 for an oil change and gas filter, I felt it was time to find another way. Thats when I found you guys. I just did my last oil change and gas filter for $30 and that included everything. I did not refill the gas filter with fuel but bumped starter about 3 times. When I went to start it ran for about 5 secs and quit. It took about 2 minutes of hitting the starter before it started. I think I will fill the fuel canister back up next time before starting. Anyway, thanks for all the great info from previous posts to help me get the job done.

filling the canister with unfiltered fuel is not a good idea
just reapeat the process after putting new filter element in and if the fuel pump works there will be no problem
