Hea guys… this is my first post. I’m new to the wonderful world of Cummins power (about five months now). I just found the TDR web site last week, joined immediately and have read many of your discussions (a lot of knowledge out there).

About a month ago (before I found the TDR Forum) I bought and installed a Bully Torque Dog. I’m happy with what it’s done to the performance of my Cummins but I’m worried about EGT’s after reading some of your post. Does anyone know anything about the Torque Dog? Does it compare favorably with the VA CPC.

I believe that it is pretty much exactly a VA in a different package. You should get a set of gauges, but I don't think you'll have to worry about EGT much it this is your only mod. If you're really worried, pull the plastic piece between your fender and airbox out and put a straight pipe in place of the muffler.

MCM, welcome aboard. As far as the Torque Dog goes, it is not exactly the same as a VA. It does much the same things that the VA does but it is from a different company. It has similar gains to the VA if we beleive the advertising, so I would say it is a comparable box. You really should put some guages in, at least a pyrometer. My truck would make 1250* empty fairly easily bone stock. I have never pulled any real weight with it so I don't know if it would make dangerous temperatures, but I know I don't want to risk it.

Welcome aboard. Remember to keep an eye on the Events Forum. There are local get-togethers going on occasionally and you can meet some of the guys and check out their trucks.
