I just want to say hello to everyone. I have been lurking around this board for four months trying to deside on what truck to get.

Well tomorrow afternoon I will be picking up my black 2002 4x4 Quad cab HO 6spd. I cannot wait. I know off the bat I need a EGT and fuel pressure gauge. The bombing will have to wait. Is there any thing else I should do right away? Thank you to all on this board for helping me make the correct choice.

Welcome to TDR... The gauges are a good idea, but the very first thing you should do is get in you new truck, drive, and have fun!!!:D

I think what he meant to say was, "Thank you to all on this board for helping me make the correct color choice. ":D

I know, bad Scott. I did test drove a Ford. I get it tomorrow around 11:00am CST. Friday I am leaving for a KC Jeep Club run in Disney OK. I will be pulling about 5500lbs (lite for the Cummins)

for a 7hr round trip. I also tow about 4000lbs every day and if my buddy holds up his end of the deal a 32ft gooseneck with two Jeeps on it. That should come in at about 12,000lbs. Thanks again.

A big thanks to all that have and will reply for making me feel welcome. I guess I left out an important detail it is a 2500 the only thing my wife said is "I will not drive a dually".

chuck3, I hope to still like it as well. I will post a picture of it tomorrow if I am not out driving it or sleeping in it while it's parked in the garage.

HOWDY

Enjoy the truck, I have mine, it just keeps goin and goin and goin and goin, kinda like a Isuzu commercial, and it aint a Durapuke!!

Just like mine only newer

Just the way I like it another me running around!

All my friends will be mad when I tell them I found someone with taste like me!!!LOL:-laf :-laf :-laf :-laf

sangell, What Jeep club are you part of in KC?? I am part of the Flatlander Jeep Club out of Manhattan, KS. Anyway you will love the ETH as that is what mine is a 2500 HO as well and I love it more evertime I drive it. Disney, OK is very fun, but I like Clayton more!! I need to get back down to OK again sometime.

Hello and welcome, Scott!

I have basically the same story as you - only I waited about six months to make my decision. I think all trucks have plusses and minuses, but the Cummins was a bigger plus for me than the various other advantages of the other trucks.

I finally flipped a coin; heads for Dodge, tails for Ford. It came up tails.

It was only at that point that I knew I would buy the Dodge, as I surprised myself by the disappointment I felt from the results of the coin flip.

I've been smiling ever since, with my 2001 2500 4x4.

I'm in the process of installing what I consider to be the big three gauges - fuel pressure, EGT, and boost. I bought the VDO vision series, as they look most like the stock gauges. The pressure gauges came with green condoms for the lamps, so they'll look somewhat like the factory ones at night. The EGT gauge comes with a mini wedge lamp, and no condoms. A little bit of green transparent glass paint hopefully took care of that problem. I haven't powered them up yet, so I don't know whether it'll burn off.

I like the looks of the a-pillar mount, so I got one, and rather than screw it to the existing, I've removed two of the clips from the existing one, and epoxied them to the triple-gauge pod.

I've also installed an exhaust brake, and one of Bob V's Super Shifter knobs. It puts the exhaust brake control and a 2WD switch right at your fingertips. 2WL is nice for maneuvering trailers.

My wife insisted on steps, so I got some GoRhino tubular steps that run wheel-to-wheel. She can actually reach into the bed if needed, now.

The only other thing I'm going to do in the near future is a spray-in bed liner, like a Line-X.

Like you, I'm going to have to wait for the BOMBing party.

Well, I got it. I love it so far. A couple of small problems though, It pulls to the right pretty good. I spent four years as a front end tech. So I have some experience with the causes of pulls. I have already checked air pressure, 50psi front as the door says. I will swap the front tires tomorrow morning to rule out a tire problem. I am betting the dealer will be doing an alignment. Also the truck was brought down from Iowa and it did not have a spare tire and wheel. The window sticker states ones, so I want one. The dealer said they would call tomorrow to see when they could get one from the dealer in Iowa. I am leaving friday afternoon for a seven hour round trip that I will NOT be doing with out a spare.

DHatfield,

I am the VP of the KC Jeep CLub. I wheel my wifes ZJ with 4. 5" lift, true trac in rear, 31" MTRs and allot of armor, even still I have heard Clayton would not be good to my Grand so I stay up in Disney. This weekend I am hauling down a buddy and his XJ on 35s. I just want to with the truck instead of drive the Jeep.

I have a couple of questions for all of the experts out there. I did not do a search but I am also not starting a new thread for them. Should I, and what kind of fuel additive should I run? Also,

I have the tweeters on the a-pillars, can I still use the guage pods? I hope because I like those also. Thanks again. I will post a picture tomorrow as it is dark know. I will also let everyone know how it does this weekend. So far the "computer"

has MPG avg at 14. 4
