For What It's Worth

Took the whole family to the New Mexico International Auto Show last night at the convention center. They have a Red '06 Dodge Ram Mega Cab there on display (that you can actually get in to).

When I first saw the pics on TDR I thought is was ugly. Now that I've seen it in person, I think it's ugly. It's really out of proportion. But, the new front end does look better in person than in the pictures, and there is a lot of room in it.

Anyway, if you get up there this weekend, stop by and take a look. Lots of nice cars there to look at.

I'm out on the road next week. I'll be checking in with you all. Hope everybody is hanging in there (it got a little quiet out here)

Joe Donnelly, Doug Leno, and TDR were all mentioned in the May issue of Trailer Life magazine. They discussed Joe's and Doug's work testing

"numerous 'boxes' for the Cummins HPCR (2003-and-later Dodge)... ... ". Although the main article focused on a 7. 3L Stroke Ford, they explained Joe and Doug's testing on the 3-G Ram CTD in moderate detail. So now, besides being famous with the TDR crowd, Joe's name is nation wide with Trailer Life magazine.

Well deserved, also. Im amazed time and time again how people who have never even heard of TDR know the name Joe Donnelly. And in my opinion, he's well known for all the right reasons!

Hehe. I had a genuine 380 hp plate and Ram before most admitted it was possible, back in 1997. Today it is called the #10, . 030" forward of stock.

Should we meet at Bea's this Thurs, 11AM? Friday I'm leaving for Vegas.

I can't remember what's on my calendar for thursday, but if I'm open I'll see you all at Beas. I've been MIA for a few days. Caught up in work and several projects at home.

Hey Pwerwagn, don't knock those valencia county experts!! It's the water. I have a cousin down there who knows absolutely everything about everything. Just ask him... and then get a sandwich and a chair cause you're gonna be there a while. I usually try to fake a cell phone call or a heart attack just to get away for some fresh air.

Los Lunas isn't the only place with the most hp--at the mouth anyway. A couple years ago a Texan had a 680 hp Ram and came to MM to show us. He even tried power shifting on the dyno  He pounded that truck unmercifully but it didn't give up more than 404 hp. I'd love to see a Ram wheelstanding with that immensely heavy Cummins. If the Edge truck can't do it, lottsa luck :D

Hmmm, two Edge boxes, DD injectors & turbo, SRT hood, why Junior must have at least, what, 900? Yep, it can do wheelies, that is, if the trail is rough enough or it falls off a cliff

With twins even!!!! I know who your talking about... .

Yup, I keep trying to convince those guys that no matter what, a Cummins, in a 4 wheel drive, 1-ton dually long bed club cab, will NOT do a wheelie!!! I am pretty sure none of them have ever had a physics class!

A favorite excuse of the twin turbo guys is that they "didn't light". I need to carry a Zippo for them :) Somehow the same folks called my big single a lag pig, yet it seemed to "light" if the engine made enough power Oo. One guy complained that his twins didn't make as much boost on the dyno, yet at the last event it made 123 lb @ 716 hp. When are they gonna catch Ol' Sickly with the single lag hog turbo? Poor old Sickly hasn't participated in almost two years and his record still stands for #2 only. Of course, that is except for Los Lunas, where the air is so good and the fuel so special.

Maybe we will see some big #s at MM'05.

the part I dont understand, is the point of twins is so you dont sacrifice spoolup like a big single does, yet they dont spool on the dyno as well as a single?? Would using a Zippo lighter to light the turbos be classified the same as using drugs? :-laf

Heck ya! The air and fuel in Los Lunas is special. Bewey spezial! But as soon as you venture out of los lunas/belen into the real world, the benifits diminish. If someone were smart, they would put a dyno down there to record all the 800hp monsters.

wooo hooo!! my bd torque converter and valve body should be coming in today or tomorrow!! Oo. i will finally have a big boy transmission! for all those of you out there who have never went a week or more without your truck, DONT DO IT! i have been driving a toyota tacoma for about a week and a half, let me tell you it is about as enjoyable as a kick in the crotch! i miss my noise maker :( . so next in line is the install of my TST Powermax 3. any takers on a helping hand? :-laf i dont think it will be too bad, but you all are welcome to come by and have a beer at least. whats the latest and greatest? where did this forum go??

FOLGERS 4",

cant you think of your own things to put in your sig, or do you have to copy my ideas? ;)

I'll help with the TST. If you wanna help w/ my new project. Tonight Im possibly getting a 2004 Hemi engine/trans/x-case w/ 10,000 miles from a wrecked truck (I traded the 454 GM crate motor I had for sale). I cant decide whether to ebay the HEMI or to put it in my 74 power wagon. the better mileage in the 74 would be nice, but the money would be great to finally get a turbo and stuff too.

whatcha think?
