yeah, you undersmoked-overvalved 24V auto guys always complain.

About the lift: before we pursue it, you may wanna call skyjacker and ask them what the diff is between the 2500 and the 1500 kits. I forgot that his truck was actually a 97 1500. the kit was a Skykacker 5. 5" class II Double flex lift system. It had heims on the control arms, it had the dual shock kit up front, it had the SJ steering stabilizer, and rear springs. I know that the 1500 rear springs wont work on yours (unless you dont want to haul anything), but the frontend is probably the same. Oh yeah, and he also had to have a Tom Woods high angle CV joint D-shaft made because he also had a 2. 5" spacer on it (yup, 8" total).

here is a pic:

Great luncheon yesterday. First time @ Bob's Burgers and you may have hooked me on it. Jeff, $14 @ Cummins for the fuel filter retail here in Farm. Thanks for the tip! Will change that filter out when I do my FP guage install. Heee Heee when you hit the entrance ramp to I-40 you smoked some dude, I was LOL. :-laf

Wasn't too impressed. I was in a rental and late for a meeting and didn't appreciate the cutoff. I've run in to him before and always seems to be dumbass agressive. Pretty much a turn off to your "club" and local events.

I was right behind him and he had the left arrow and all traffic was stopped bumper to bumper: he had right of way. No cuttoff's happened in my view.

hmm sounds kinda fishy... i assume you arent from around here shale, considering the rental car and all. i left late, but as i understand, wagn and wolf left at about 4 ish meaning you would be 4+ hours late to the meeting? dont get me wrong i am not trying to criticize you, but i have never seen you post and am more curious than anything.

your title:

That might have been me

Does this mean you werent sure if it was you? I mean, here you are critisizing me and you arent even sure?

#1. I was trying to wait for Jeff Wolf to "escort" him part of the way to cummins southwest, And I noticed the light was yellow but felt even he had plenty of time to make it. So I clearly remember for a damn fact that I made the light. I think you were trying to jump the gun and run the red light. He did not go, which I can understand. It probably was pushin it for him to make it.

#2. Im a dumbass? and agressive? you must have seen another truck before. I try NOT to smoke people out usually. I leave lights sanely just to keep from ******* people off. I bet you saw one of the other 9,000 red dodge rams running around. I drive so aggressive that I have not one ticket, wreck or citation on my record.

#3. you are driving a rental car, but have run into me a lot???? so I would assume you are not from here??? oh yeah, me and JWolf left bobs at 4:30-ish. You must have been real late to a meeting in that case.

I REALLY dont appreciate you coming on here and saying this. Like I said in a previous post 'I didnt try to smoke anybody out".

This is obsurd to me. I was specifically trying not to smoke anybody out (even with the temptation of another fellow TDR'er behind me) and I did not run the light. and you wanna come on here and bash me?

Come to the drag stip tomorrow. I'll show you how my truck will really smoke. But I cant guarantee you that I wont "red light" there.

You have no idea how much I try to not create a bad impression about diesels to the general public. I have so many opportunities to embarass rice burners and PSD's but I choose not to for the sake of the club and our sport.

Thank you very much for you critisizm and ignorance. It is much appreciated.

Jeff-

That's Pretty uncool in a public forum. And, yeah, I am from around here. And yeah, I put out a few ponies myself, literally and figuratively. You pull up to a Black TBD anywhere on Rio Grande between I-40 and Corrales it is probably me, weekends doing real TBD work between Reserve and ABQ. My point, and its no big deal to me, is that it was probably you and I didn't appreciate it. But hell, I do it too, and was probably more than a little ****** I couldn't run you.

I can and will play anytime. You just cut me off and I wish I coulda pushed you a little. Or a lot.

I would love to go to the strip just to test HP but got some cows down south to deal with tomorrow. Be assured, from what I saw, I put out a lot more smoke and HP. But, I am always friendly and well meaning.

The private mesages on this are surprising.

Jeff & Scott,

Please take these exchanges to PMs. They really don't belong in the public forum.

Mods, if you can (and I'm sure you can), please delete the two or three (whatever number) of posts regarding this disagreement.

Thanks muches,

Wayne

I agree Wayne. It actually will not be taken to PM because I do not want to discuss it any further. In person, email or PM. I dont wanna argue with a hypocrit. I will ask Steve to remove the posts.

Anyways, the meet went well. We had approximatley 16 people show up to the breakfast. The dragstrip meet wasnt as well attended, but I thank Wayne for showing up to support me. The fastest diesel there was Eric Mills, with a 14. 2. With my truck being returned back to 99. 9% stock to save the clutch, I ran a 16. 3 with 5-th gear being missed and a slipping clutch. second fastest diesel of the day. third place went to a 04 or 5 6. 0 PSD. Dont know mods, but he had 4" for sure. he ran in the mid 17's. Last, a 24V CTD auto ran a 18. 6. The turbo hemis made a pretty good show. Also another highlight (to me anyway) was a 1970 Cuda 440-6 that ran a 12. 47 on street tires. About the only other mopar there other than the SRT-4 Neons (which by the way were in great abundance).

Sorry for those of you that missed it, theres always next time.

Sounds like fun. Hope to see the diesel pickups run sometime. Being a first time diesel owner it still amazes me that these things will run like they do at 6000+ lbs. My AFE torque tube arrived Saturday. They're plastic now but are a fairly nice product. I've seen plenty of negative posts about these, but what the hey. It seems like so many people are always looking for something to gripe about. Turbo sound is a little more obvious now and I could swear it spins up quicker than before.

Isspro gauges should arrive on the 22nd and I made arrangement to buy an ATS exhaust manifold locally next week. This will probably be about it for modifications for a while... a little while.

Yup, Its pretty neat to see a 7,000lb truck pull up next to a WRX or a Neon SRT-4 and then blow its doors off. It was even neater to see the cocky powerstroke owner get raped by Eric. By about 4 full seconds!!!!

yea i wish i could have stayed longer! about that powerjoke, was it modded? did you race him wagn? i saw him run but wasnt really impressed.

All I know is it had a 4" exhaust. After he raced eric, he stayed on the sidelines until eric left for the day. then he came out and raced again. I never raced him, but yes, I was faster. I think he ran a best of like 17. 7 or something. I ran a 16. 3. But he did race another CTD and beat him. It was a 24V, auto, with 4" and 315's. He ran a 18. 6.

hopefully that last ctd was stock, i would :{ if mine ran a 18. 6 thats why i am saying we have to run em so i can get an idea, ya know?

All I noticed is it had 35" MT/R's in back and 35" Big O's on front. And it had a 4" with a turndown tip, probably straight. He did spool it at the line. My brother-in-law's 460 ford with 4. 10's, 285's and an auto only ran 18's too. I would guesstimate that he and you are pretty close in time (having raced him numerous times, and you once, I seem to pull on you guys about the same). Maybe me and you will have to run them when we are actually starting from the same place (I. E. not when I am behind you and have to catch you!).

If I launch in 2wd(lots of wheelspin), his 460 will leave me and I wont pass him until about 50mph. If I launch in 4wd, I leave him and never look back. My best 60-foot time was somewhere in the 2. 3 second range. I was launching in 1st gear (compound), and hitting 5th just before the lights at the end. The last run I ran a 16. 3 and never hit 5th (I missed it). It was my slowest mph, at 84, because I coasted through the lights. My highest mph was the 16. 506 run (against the 460) at 88mph, I believe. All I had on the truck at the strip is the #11 plate. I even had the stock airbox. I had 34psi of air in the rear 305 Nittos and 60 psi in the front (dont ask me why, that is just what I had).

yea thats what i was thinking, we are going to have to run em kinda semi officially, unless we go to the track again, which is a possibility. im finally going to get to tow some stuff around tomorrow, i have been waiting to really use my truck other than throwing some junk in the bed. my fuel pressure gauge should be coming in soon as well as the scotty, i will let you check em out, do you still have that gauge cup?

Are ya doing the Scotty Fuel Line Kit, or his airbox. . ???

He's doing the Airbox.

Let me try to find the gauge cups. My dad may have stolen them because I noticed he bought 3 gauges for our lake truck. Let me check.

I'd say to get an actual idea, take it to the track. I mean, if I out run you, can you tell if it is by one second or two??? Heck, even 2/10's is a lot of difference. I improved by almost 1/2 second as the day went on.
