Lotero: thought about you this weekend, bunch of crawlers were in town. Took a well deserved trip to Denver, pulled the fifth wheel. Am on my 5th tank of Bio-diesel 20%. Brought back 20 gallons of 100% bio to mix my own since it really doesn't make sense to drive an hour to fill up the truck. Be nice if someone in this one horse town would sell it. My project this summer will be to possibly build a still and cook my own although it probably is not really worth the trouble. Bio is the same cost as dino. The distributor in Denver said I can buy 100% in Alamosa, so a trip for a 55 gallon drum of the stuff will yield me about 10 tankfulls mixing 20%. Easier to make the 3 hour drive to Alamosa than to mess with cooking. Don't even like cooking in the kitchen leave alone outside cooking (there is beer in the kitchen too). I clocked 14 MPG between Durango and Denver, used 3/4 tank to do it pulling my fifth wheel. Got 13 on the trip back home. Sloooooooow going coming home down Wolf Creek, 2nd gear and still had to apply brake every 15-20 seconds. Could-a-walked-faster. Jake would be so nice. Could be the next project. Boost runs at 20 maxxed out uphill, usally around 8 on the flats. EGT varies but seemed to be around 800 on flat pulling, 600 empty travelling 65 MPH.

yeah, well my gerber is still faster than your folgers! I think i decided to ebay the hemi. the guys on the hemi page at DTW said that about a year ago, that same setup would bring 5K$, so that will be nice . Yeah, I found a 1997 12V 215hp cummins/NV4500/241 combo with 80K miles for 2800$ the other day. So I may take some of the hemi money and pick that up for the 77 power wagon when I put the 54" tires on it, and maybe the rest on the turbo and injectors and stuff.

Pusher pumps and fuel line kits are for wussy trucks. All I had was a #11 plate, and you had a EZ, exhaust, air filter, blah blah and I still killed you. Must be the weight of those extra valves.

funny post! :-laf ok here we go, i pay about 1300 a semester, and my semesters are 9 weeks, pusher pumps and fuel line kits are for trucks that you dont need to crank by hand to start, so hmm ill take the pump. and your right you did kill me, but to kill an EZfied truck? not somethin to be real proud of there cowboy (no offense warren). We had a well deserved grrrreat! time. I don't think U2 ever puts on a bad show. We also went to a Rockies baseball game. Got to meet a little with the owner of an outfit that distributes fuel (they distribute the blue sun bio-diesel). He likes it too and uses it in his new Chevy duramax. Gonna run it for a while the see how it does. I like the fact that it is an excellent lubricant---yea like we really need to try to do something to extend the life of the CTD!!! Getting to be camping season, if the snow will ever melt this year there is tons of snow in the San Juans!

I can't really decide whether to go on bombing my 03 or get a new one that has more power than mine right outta the box. Would also get the 6 speed cause I'm afraid of cooking the 48RE eventually anyway. I do hate to start all over again tho' cause I know I can't leave anything stock. My wife tells everyone that any new vehicle we buy gets a new set of tires and an exhaust system about a month after we bring it home... it's just a sickne$$ that's all. She doesn't understand why it's necessary but she puts up with it.

I hear ya on that. It like synthetic engine oil, yeah, so it extends the life of my motor from 500,000 to 550,000.

May wanna talk to Joe 'bout that one. I dont know about the 610's, but I believe he said the "wimpy" 555 actually put more hp to the ground than the 600's did.

So lets see: 240hp 24v, + 60hp ez, + automatic, + exhaust, + air filter= what, prolly 310 hp???? versus a 215 hp 12V, with only a plate at about 280hp, plus a slippen clutch, and rowin through five gears?? your tellin me!! Im goin down for the friday, sat, sun, and monday of memorial, and the sun of the weekend before. I started to drive down last sunday, and when I got to socorro, I realized that I forgot the batteries to the Jetski's at home, so I just got frustrated and went home and rode the dirt bike instead.

I have a Keg of Schlitz that came with the surburban, and is prolly 5 years old, so were gonna tap it and trade it with their good, fresh Keg.



Oh, I forgot to tell ya, my cousin is sellin his 86 4-runner, solid axle conversion (44/14 bolt), 5. 0 efi, etc etc, if your interested. Its unfinished and needs some work, but he wants to buy a cummins and put 40's on it. He is the guy that had the silver dodge I posted eariler that had the lift to trade you.

did glen get your stuff done???? I picked up a 6" stainless turndown tip at the swapmeet sat for $5. and a set of 3rd gen power/heat tow mirrors for cheap too.

havent heard from glen yet, but my torque converter and valvebody havent come in yet anyway so it doesnt really matter. i would imagine the transmission is ready to go though.

I can't believe I missed the swap meet! I used to help run it when I was in the club. It was ALWAYS on Sunday!! :-{} I hear it was a good one.



Through the years I can remember seeing the same junk on the same junky trailers several years in a row. We used to have to rent a roll off bin because some jerks would abandon the crap that didn't sell. (that's how valuable it was). I think the quality has improved somewhat.



Luis is that a toyota boat? Did it take on water? or just wet the ignition (hood up)

yea where is sits is where it is a little shallower, the water went in the intake, then the cylinders, and water doesnt compress, so snap crackle pop goes the rod right out the side of the block. i had intentions of R&R the motor this weekend but that never happened i got my transmission parts in today so i will be re-trucked soon! and tstd soon after that!! Oo.
