Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) New Motor Built by ADT

all i can say is WOW!!! this truck is absolutely awesome. took the truck to Doug (great guy) for a few probs including bad oil leak behind the front cover and oil pan gasket and antifreeze dripping down the block. after tear down of the head to fix what was thought to be failed fire rings (they held fine) was actually found to be a crack in the head right below the #6 injector. then when the front cover was taken off and the cam was pulled the bearings were worn down to copper and the main bearings were also, plus the deck of the motor had a 1. 5 thou dip in it. So instead of putting a worn out motor back together Doug and I opted to rebuild using my current block, and if i was going to rebuild stock parts were not going back in. The block was pulled and machined true, cylinders were bored . 20 over do to some scoreing in #1 cylinder and a new head was ordered as well. So a call to Enterprise Engine Performance was made and a reground race cam, and custom cut . 20 over pistons were ordered, also Haisley's 14mm studs and fire rings and headgasket were order. After all the parta arrived the motor was reassembled by ADT (will post pics later) and set back in the truck. after 600 miles Doug retorqued the head this past sat and i let her have it a bit more on the way home and all i have to say is this thing is wild. i never thought a diesel with a tight auto would spool and be as quick as this thing is with a touch of the pedal. seat of the pants feel is awesome, i fear for my stock input shaft and will be ordering a billet one this week from DTT. this thing has a ton more power, mpg are up drastically and the overall driveability is unbelievable, i highly recomend a cam and pistons from EEP and last but certainly not least the friendlyness and work done by Doug Conrad of Advanced Diesel Technology was top notch, I could call at anytime just to check on the truck and he never minded talking to me about things, prices were very very reasonable and the willingness to take time on a sat (his day off) just to retorque the head since i am in my busy season and cant get off during the week was great. So Doug and Dawn thanks for everything, you will get more of my bussiness to make my truck even more of a fire breathing monster. i dont think the truck was ever right from the factory, it was always low on power and didnt run taht good. the guy that had it before me for the first 30k he used fram filters and maybe the oil i was using, i dont know it is right now.



don-i wasnt even trying to compare my truck to yours apples and oranges from mine before and yours. i will take you a ride in it here soon.
