Quick question about exhaust clamps. I just got a MBRP replacement muffler for my truck. It came with "U" style exhaust clamps. I've been told that band clamps are more effective at sealing and I think the look slicker. Which should I use? I want to make the swap on Saturday. I want have the parts on hand. Thanks- 'Bolt

I agree band clamps are the only way to go; the local napa store caries a good assortment of SS steal band clamps

Band clamps are nice in the fact that if you decide to remove the exhaust at any point, it will slide right apart. When you decide to change mufflers again... :-laf

You can get band clamps from Summit Racing also...

Thunderbolt,

I have 2 brand new Donaldson band clamps that I did not use with my recent exhaust install. I am in Maryland I could ship them up to you for a few bucks. Just let me know.

I vote for SS band clamps. They don't crush the pipe and they don't rust like the u-bolts. They look really cool too.

Make sure you use LOTS of WD-40 or CRC 556 or some grease at they stretch over the pipe and if you dont lube them up, you wont be able to get the two flanges to come together.

I have a pic in my photos, if interested.
