Today when coming out after lunch the truck had a new noise. It is a throaty growl at low rpm when starting out. It is on the right side of the engine, about mid-height. When I was younger (and stupider) we would remove the air filter from the air cleaner to get a sound like this. I never left it out long, but it sure sounded good.
I recently had my local dealer do the 67,500 EGR cooler cleaning. Could that have caused it? I have an appointment tomorrow to have it looked at. That was a pain in itself. I'm nearly 3000 miles from home on a schedule. I got an appointment with the third dealer I called and have to drive 30 miles to get there. Others couldn't get me in for a week. FCA really needs to step up their dealer service game.
I'm wondering if anyone has an idea what it is so I could guess whether they will be able to fix it in short order or if my schedule is going to be messed up.
