Attention: TDR Forum Junkies Had a good experience with my dealer. 5-speed was making strange noises (synchonizers?) when shifting into 2nd, 3rd, and 5th. Also rattling and whining a bit in 5th. The tail shaft seal had failed (split) about 2000 mi. ago and it lost most of the gear lube. The seal was replaced under warranty but the noises got worse the last couple of weeks. Took it in Tuesday, with 34,800 mi. , to have this looked at along with the fuel gauge sender and a cracked passenger side mirror. Got a call today from the service to come and pick it up. Everything was replaced with new, including the transmission!! The service writer said that transmission wasn't cheap... . $2800.
