I installed my new Pacbrake PRXB on Sunday.

The install was simple and the instructions were complete. I have to say the quality of the kit is top notch. I can't wait to hook to my trailer next month and see how it works.

I am just waiting on a shifter mounted switch at the moment that I will add this weekend.

Thanks Rip for hooking me up with this. Oo.

I too want to install a PacBrake. It's good to know that it's not that difficult to install. Where did you buy the kit?

You will love how it slows your truck down with the trailer. Mine works awesome!! I will never have another truck without one!

Yes, they do work very well..... when they work. As soon as the temp drops below freezing, mine doesn't work untill the engine heat thaws everything out. So if you plan on using it to warm up your truck faster when it's really cold out... ... don't. Otherwise during the warmer months it performs flawlessly.

Drain the water from your tank every now and again and that should eliminate your problem. Thats one reason big trucks have air dryers. Its been in the low 20s a few times since I've had my pacbrake on and no problems, but due to the wild weather around here I have drained my tank a couple times just to keep water from getting in the lines. In the right weather an air compressor can make quite alot of water.

I've been told an air dryer would help. I think for what you pay for these units, a $30 air dryer should be included. Especially if water can be a problem.

I guess if you have lots of patience, I am doing mine at the moment and just taking a break. The elbow was not the same demensions as the oem elbow. I had to move the exhaust system forward about 1/2" which was not a big deal except the bell housing mount for the down pipe wouldn't line up after that.

At the moment I am trying to figure out how they planned you to tighten the two forward compressor mounting plate bolts. I think I will space the compressor up some more off the bracket.

Where are you located?

It really takes 2 people to get the elbow back on easily. Yes the exhaust needs to be pulled away to get the elbow in place. You then need someone to grab onto the tailgate and use their foot to push the whole exhaust system forward. I did it by myself, but 2 people would of helped.
