Have you ever experienced the trick of holding a person seated in a chair by placing a finger against his or her forehead? For some reason, the center of gravity is unable to set itself into motion to get up, thereby rendering the seated person held in place.
My question: why don't car manufacturers do away with seat belts, harnesses, air bags, etc. , and just build an artificial finger that swings out like the sun visors and rests against your forehead while driving?
If this is already in the works, please disregard the idea.

Although most of the stuff I post comes from the depth of my Homer Simpson sized brain, this one didn't. This subject is a figment of my web browsing, but I could have thought of it myself someday
