Any good reason not to buy a 91 ?

I've had my new ISSPRO pyro installed all of 2 days and it has already quit working. :( It has power and the thermocouple is hooked up properly. I get absolutely no movement out of it now. It seemed intermitent at first but now nothing. If it did not work at first, I could turn the key off then back on and it would read. Sounds like it is time to call ISSPRO. They are only an hour down the road so looks like a trip to Portland next week.

Thermcouple...........

CDegner. Most of the time it is a broken wire. Take a look at the wires that attach to the gauge, if they have been bent in a circular configuration to fit the post of the gauge you may have broken a wire near the gauge. Thermocouple wire is had and brittle and breaks.

It may take some time to find the broken spot in the wire. Remember. hook back up using the right polarity, if not the gauge will read back wards. goes down instead of up. Also take a look at the plug at the thermocouple, there are connections there also.

Carl, try tapping on the little control box that is wired between the thermocouple and the gauge. My first Isspro had that problem, and if I tapped on the box, the needle would come up to where it should be. The Isspro dealer gave me a whole new gauge, and it has been OK since. I read here that a few others had the same problem.

Jim and Fitz,

Thanks for the replies. I plan on checking both of those today. I just finished getting poser to the transmission temp gauge. It is inline with the pyro so I know power is getting to the pyro unit.

I'll let you know what I end up finding out. I want the pyro working before I install injectors. They are sitting in the garage and it is killing me!!Oo. Oo.

Ding, Ding, Ding!! Jim is the winner! :p

It turns out that a ring connector had come apart (three pieces and had intermitent continuity. IT was frustrating as I suspected the problem was in the wiring in the gauge mount. Took the moung apart to get to it and the pyro started working. Reassembled and it quit. This played itself out a couple times so I figured I had a bad connector. Started testing for continuity and everything was OK but the gauge did not worked.

I had already tested the thermocouple so I tested the intermediate wiring. Sure enough found an open stretch. Quick fix and all is well in gauge land on my dash! :D Oo. :D

Thanks for the helpful advice!!
