It's pretty easy. I've got an Alpine CD player that does really nice. . plus my amps/component speakers and subwoofer help too!!!

I gotta have SOMETHING to drown out my exhaust drone! :D

But yes, you will need a wiring kit, and it should come with the CD player if you order it from Crutchfield or Sound Domain. Crutchfield is overpriced on a lot of things, so beware.

If you already have a CD player, then call one of those two and ask for an installation kit.

Those are the only two I list because they are the only ones I have dealt with. Sound Domain is by FAR better.

Hope that helps.

Yes you will need a cd player install kit. It should have a few different applications face plates etc. Not overly tough but just take your time and make sure you have plenty of wire connectors and make sure you wire it correctly. Keep your old amfm for a spare or friends first gen truck. Bill

If you go with a 1. 5 DIN stereo, it will fit right in, no face plate required. I installed a Pioneer DEH-P77DH and it is nice. Got it cheap too ($128). Went to the local autoparts store and for $11, you can get the wiring adapter. It is the exact same one that the high end audio stores will charge you $25 for.

I bought an adapter plate and harness from Crutchfield for less than $20 total. The unit fits in there like a glove. Crutchfield's directions were absolutely perfect.

I have found that because of what they include Crutchfield's prices aren't too bad. Getting the kit and the pigtail makes things easy and they send quality ones too, some radio shops will give you crappy install kits.
