new Ram at work

A roustabout company working at the gas plant have 3 Ford super dutys with the 6. 7. All have had turbo problems, some as many as 4 times. Well. last Friday, a new 3500 Ram showed up with one crew. I guess they were fed up with the Fords being in the shop. Well, Tuesday morning, they were moving their tools back to the older Ford to send the Ram back to the dealer. Something happened Monday and it would only go 5 mph. But, it was back at work today! Boy, I was really hoping the Ram would put the Ford to shame! So much for hope!

If you continue running without DEF eventually it goes into that limp mode. A few other issues will also do it. You will never hear the real story now as they won't admit it if they did something stupid.

I think it might have been an electrical problem that resulted from the flatbed installation, but not sure.

Could have been. Anyone upfitting a new Ram should get the VSIM (vehicle system interface module), or electronic monitoring module option. It is risky to tap into just any wire.
