First time Ram owner looking to change my fuel filters. It's a 2018, 5500 CC. Would the procedure be the same that it is for the HO Cummins? Does anyone have a link to a good video? I just watched a YouTube video and the guy reused the fuel to fill the new filters and he did not cycle the fuel pump.

Yes the procedure would be the same for all 2500-5500 trucks.

You can’t cycle the pump by bumping the starter anymore, you to go off/run/off a few times and let the pump run its course each time you’re in run.

Be sure to get genuine OEM filters.

Much appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you don't put your foot on the brake pedal,.. that way it will not "attempt" to crank while you are cycling the off/run/off button.

Welcome to the forum,..good luck.

Yup. My previous Powerstroke was a breeze. I looked at another video and someone really wasn't thinking when the fuel filters needed to be located during engine design. Hopefully, it's easier than it looks.

Welcome to TDR. A long extension with a swivel or a wobble type with proper socket (28mm) allows you to remove the cap easily. I carry the necessary stuff in tool box on truck just in case there's are issue. Have both the fuel filters needed for the truck along with fuel filter for the transfer tank. Doesn't take up that much room for the peace of mind having them! It's not a fun task, but with the tools and knowledge, goes pretty easy. Enjoy that truck!
