Not sure when they'll be available, but Dorman announced this week that they are manufacturing and selling new Dodge Ram spring shackles, part number 722-021... . not sure when they'll become available at your parts dealer..... Thought some of you poor guys that run in "weasel snot" country might like the idea.....

What's amazing to me is the broad range of items Dorman has for hard to find stuff. I was at a show as a vendor one time and had a discussion with a Dorman guy and got on their WE NEED THIS VEHICLE list for new product fill in item here testing. Couple of days ago I did a lookup on Dorman and after I found the item, the website asked if I found what I was looking for, clicked YES and got a thank you type response.

Overall, I guess they're ok... . Thier products seem to me to be well made. Many people, including myself, have been pressuring them to make parts for older trucks... . It seems most of their items are for newer models, mostly Chevy and Ford..... I think they're just now catching up to where they should have been several years ago..... but I'm probably a little picky... :D They're just now getting into the diesel side of the market, a few years late, IMO... . But better late than never... www.dormandiesel.com I love how they have a picture of a 7. 3 Navistar V8 next to the Cummins page name.....

Just purchased 2 shackles from Advance Auto last week. Dorman part # 722-022. Cross referenced that number with one from Rock Auto and they matched. Had them installed yesterday, and the mechanic had no complaints with any of the parts.

Might want to checkout Don Thuren's shackles. They are pretty nice and adjustable. 3rd Gen only though.

dorman also makes TIPM units (06 and up) that the computer fuse box to you older truck guys!
(that thing is a pain in the ***!)

Just got 2 new Dorman shackles from Rock yesterday. Yes, they are well made & heavy. My originals have been rotting out and last week I had one break in two while driving down the highway. Heard a "bang" & upon inspection the bang was the leafspring arching up & smacking the underside of the bed. Kinda scary when something like this happens while you're tooling along at 70 mph... ... .... ... definitely a WTF moment!... ... ... ... ... Mike
