Need a new one... I backed into a redneck brick mailbox in Kentucky :{

How do I get a better price... all the dealerships want $547. That seems real steep. What is the jobber price?

Thanks

Check e-bay. After my wife backed into a tree while getting rocks for a garden, I bid on one for $157 + 50 S&H. It came off a 2004 that upgraded their bumper. I am surprised on how light a rear bumper is. Also check to see if the mounting brackets got bent.

I need one as well, there is a junk yard that the local truck body place sells the beds and bumpers to, the name of it is Perry's it is in western MA. They want $300 for a take off with minor scratches and $400 for a perfect one, they probabaly pay $50 for it from the truck body place. The cheapest I have seen a new one for, just the chrome part is the link posted above for $410, but with shipping it would probably be closer to $475. I think I will wait will after the winter to replace mine.

My 04 bumper looks like its 10 yr. old, can't believe they would put such a piece of crap on that truck. If you buy an OEM your're getting the same crap. Thinking of making my own out of a 2 by 8 or more piece of lumber, as I used to do years ago. CHEAP.

You should have posted before you left KY... I have a new take-off chrome one I'd sold ya for $225. 00 .

Looks like moparpatz was cheapest at $410 and way closer to me.

Maybe I'll wait till I get rear ended like you always do after you fix it. Either way I'm getting rear ended :{

I have one off my 04 that is perfect. I replaced it with a sport style setup.

If you want it send me a PM and I'll shoot you a price.

Redneck mailbox? ... ... ... ... who was driving? :-laf

Anyway, I could use one too. I was backing from the garage after swapping the fuel filter and backed into the light pole that has been there since I bought the place in '95 :{ This was my first dent at like 60,000 miles, still irks me.

I found several vendors on E-bay 'bout 8 mo's ago for my model 2004, somewhere between $200-$250. Had it within several days of ordering as promised and an easy swap for a non-mechanic.

These bumpers are a joke, I barely tapped a post while backing into a parking space and caused a very noticeable dent. If I was replacing the bumper I'd upgrade to something more rugged instead of wasting 2-5 hundred bucks on another stocker.
