I have aftermarket rims on my truck now, but am looking for new ones. What was the factory offset/backspace on the original rims? I had the steel ones. I don't want them sticking out anymore and am planning on going from 285/75 to 255/85. I like the tall, skinny ones! Also, I'm chipping the stink out of my rockers and doors. I know the original wheels were 6. 5 wide and I have 8" now. TIA

Alcoas are strong and inexpensive, about $110 last I checked at southwest wheel. However, they do have less offset to the inside than stock. They are 16x7 which is about perfect for 255-85-16. That is the combo i used on my 97.

Amink, offset is +40mm on all Dodge Ram HD trucks from '94 - current as far as I know.

I put '03 aluminum wheels on my '96 and they're just right. Some pics in my Readers' Rigs gallery. Not sure about the stockers but the 8" wide '03 wheels have 6. 0" backspace.
