Has anyone tried it? Is it OK to use it in a high mileage 12v (package says it is Cummins approved) I wonder if its worth the price difference. .

If you live where the winters are cold it's a cheaper cold weather alternative. Personally if I lived in the southern part of the country I'd run 15w-40 dino year round with 3-5k changes depending on if you tow/haul.
