Hi guys,

I just had a new HD, triple disk transmission installed, but I don't know if they have the shift points set up correctly in the valve block.

Right now, normal driving (1/3 - 1/2 throttle) it shifts at all speeds at slightly over 2000 RPM. (2050 approx)

I remember the last two stock trannys shifting at a lower rpm. The first two shifts are very firm, but going into lockup is too soft, almost squishy.

Can you guys that have a 99 - 2002 transmission tell me what RPM your truck shifts at under normal 1/3 - 1/2 throttle? (My last transmission was actually a 2002)

Thanks, I appreciate it.

Robert

Again today it consistently shifted in all 4 speeds, including lockup, at 2000 rpm, which I believe should be about 1600 rpm for this truck.

Any guys in the 99 -02 model year with the 47RE would be candidates for giving me their truck shifting RPM. It would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Robert

Yeah over 2k seems a little high. When I first got mine done it shifted at about 1600. I had the line pressure upped not to long ago and he extended the shifts for me for towing. Now it shifts at about 18-1900. If I just ease onto the throttle it will still shift around 1650 or so. It feels just right to me now, but then again I also have 4:10's.

Well, I called DTT today and they agreed it was too high.
I ordered a new DTT valve body set up for the truck, the Sonic 3 disc Torque Converter has no problem holding the torque.
If my memory serves me correct, I agree with you that 1600 sounds correct.

Thanks,
Robert
