The time has come for me to put new shocks on my Ram. I've read a lot of praise in this forum and others for the Rancho 9000s and the Monroes. I'm not sure if I need all of the capabilities that the Ranchos offer. I don't do a lot of off-roading or towing. I mainly do hauling (medium loads) and over the road use. I was considering the Rancho RSX's or the Trail Master SSV's. The Edelbrock ISA's look okay too but seem a bit pricy. I would appreciate any advice/war stories. Thanks in advance!

Telong,
I installed the Edlebrock IAS's on my truck since a buddy of mine has had them on his 98 for over two years and loves them. I am very impressed with them and would by them again.
I have had Rancho's on my 98 and ate them up on the So-Cal freeways in a hurry. Another great shock to look at is the Bilstien's which I think if you are carrying loads is the best shock out there.
Good Luck,
Mike

Telong--
I just replaced Rancho 5000's with the Edelbrock IAS shocks (yes, pretty pricey) and I'm not as impressed as I thought I would be. They did offer improvement over the 5000's, but I guess with all the hype I expected a little more. I have never run the 9000's or the Bilistens so I have no direct comparison, all I know is that the lousy gravel road I live on is still pretty rough. I know it isn't much to go on, shocks and ride quality are a very subjective thing to measure, not like horsepower where the dyno tells all.
Good luck, post your findings--it helps us all in the pursuit of the "truth".
