Cool site. Infrared road temp sensors to adjust ice melter rates, these are my kind of guys.

On our new salter we passed on the temp sensors. One more electronic item to fail.



We did however go with a new setup that sprays a liquid on the salt as it is falling out of the hopper. It supposedly makes the salt last longer, work quicker, and we can use ~30% less salt to achieve the same results. So far it seems to be working as suggested.
