First Time Towing

2004.5 CTD and new hitch/and camper

Got new slide-out covers for my 36' ... 2 slide 5th wheel.

Carefree of Colorado has some nice units and the bedroom slide is a new item where is makes a "Tent" on the fabric when the slide is pushed out so water runs off. . Called the Slideout Summit.

Here when closed

Here when opened. The bar you see is a track for a couple of other pieces to make the fabric tent up when the unit rolls out

Here is my 12' slide and the "OMEGA 2" slide out cover. This is pretty unique as it works as a regular slideout cover and stays tight to the wall as in the first pic, But you can pull it down for the window awning as well... . all in one unit... Pretty amazing!!

Here is a photo I obviously photo-chopped together, just wanted you to see the whole thing... . This is a new model For Keystone called the raptor. A 36' toyhauler with a 12' separate garage... . Separated by a wall... . There is a loft bed that is over the garage but part of the living area... .

Here is a pic of my parents when we were out in the SO. Ca Desert for Thanksgiving... . I have 2 quads a Polaris 500 Sportsman and a Polaris 500 Predator

those are nice units there Eric. carefree makes the ramp room on my new TT i just ordered. looking forward to compare the quality.

that extra awning over the window is worth a ton when you're out in the middle of can't get there from here and trying to cool the thing.

Eric

I have never replied to any of your threads but I have to tell you I have followed along with you and you purchase of your new trailer, and I have to admit I like your style "go big or go home" ;). If your ever in the desert so west in the winter we would love to have you along with our group for a weekend of fun off roading.

Mac

Nice Toy box, Eric. We are looking into a toy hauler of our own, to carry the '03 50th anniversary corvette convertible. Is the raptor capable of hauling a car?

Thanks,

Jeff

the raptors can handle as much as 5235lbs (3018TT Model) carrying capacity and as little a 3830lbs in the FW (3512SS Model)

not sure about the interior widths, exterior is 8'6" on all models and then there is the issue of no "curb" door to get out of the car so you would be looking at winching in and out more than likely.

have you looked at Campmasters by Roadmaster and the Forest River Work and Play? each of those are gargo based trailers and offer the RV features.

The Raptor will probably be our next RV. we just couldnt swing the extra 6k this time. around, they are REALLY nice.

Garage length on mine is 12' X 8' exactly... . To the inch... . There are no "things" on the walls so this is all garage The only thing is a work bench on the front wall about waist high... ... There is a door on the curb side in the garage... Ribber diamondplate like Genos sells, also included is the "E"-track and clips for tiedowns... (I bought some of the Truckstop Tiedowns of the same type as the ones supplied are junk)

I would say that if you loaded this up with water, fuel and such, you could load 3K in the rear. I am at 12K on the 6 wheels and the weight rating of the wheels is 15,500# That is also the GVW of the trailer itself.

macdaddy, I like your quote "go big or go home" :D ..... well I didn't get a 40 footer...

I mainly bought this trailer for 2 reasons. I wanted a loft over the garage and part of the living area and when going long trips, with the separated garage, you can use the trailer even with the slideouts in and all loaded up.

Where are you in So. Calif. ? We went recently to The area called "U-hah" There is so much BLM restrictions and BS that we will never go back there. We had been going there for 20 years and I wanted to go back and see it again and was Angered with all the restrictions... .

So where do you ride? We are going down that way (East south CA) in Late July like the 18-20th. If you want to find a place to get together, then great!! PM me and we might do it!

if anyone wants to see this trailer and is going to MM this year, I am in a spot that is by the pool so it is a back-in spot.
