Anyone hear of a handful of diesel cars, Hyundai>Getz, Ford>Ikon, Chevy>? coming in March '07  I read this in auto forum. I wonder if the USA will see the light regarding diesel power for the masses, like the wise, and worthy CTD folks :-laf

Been expectin it - - - The oil companies also expect a serge of diesel power, thats why diesel fuel prices are so high as compared to gasoline prices, and didn't come down in relation to crude prices during the current reduction in prices - - - The oil companies are not interested in the price per gallon as much as they want to keep the cost per mile elevated. Wait until diesel fuel taxes start going up!

Many companies, including Toyota, have been producing small diesels in other countries for some time now. I believe the introduction of ULSD has made it easier for them to meet the EPA regs here in the US.

Yep, Honda is supposed to be bringing their 2. 2 iCTDI (or something like it) here by '08 or '09. It is already offered in Europe in the Accord and CRV. Toyota and Subaru are supposed to be looking hard also. On the high end, maybe Audi will bring the Q7 V12 TDI. ;)
