I'm hoping bob will chime and help me out with this one. I put the newest update on my smarty and applied it. So far at about 55 MPH i'm at about 800 degrees on my EGT. WAYYYY too hot. I was between 500 and 600 on the last one. Any fix that anyone knows about?

Also, when will the long awaited fuel economy update come out?

That's odd in that my truck is running 100* cooler under all conditions. Marco says #3 & #5 are the most economical with the new update. Are you running the odd numbered sw's?

The new update for the Smarty permits higher than stock boost levels.

If I were you I would be looking for boost leaks.

Good luck.

At 55 MPH I'm showing 10lbs of boost at 800 degrees. To me that's way hotter than the last version I was running. I may revert back to it seeing how it worked better for me.

Sounds like you're loaded... I've never seen 10# at 55mph unloaded:confused:. I usually don't see 10# cruising until about 60-70mph.

If I'm loaded at 55mph with 10# boost, 800* wouldn't sound unreasonable. I ran that version for a while and never saw anything like that.

Just my two cents

ok so I went back to stock on the smarty and I'm still running way hot. I'm idling at 600 degrees and i'm at 900 at 30 MPH. What could be going on here?

Is the truck smokier or sound odd? Or does it run like business as usual? If it seems to run right I would look gauge first, after that "it's on".

Possibly a bad egt gauge or probe.

I think it might be the probe but not ruling out the gauge either. Truck runs like it always did. No raise in oil level, no excess smoke and I just got an oil sample back that looks normal for fuel. The oil smells like oil and not fuel too. Oh, no codes either. Everything is good except for the gauge.

I noticed the same thing on mine tonight. Loaded up SW#3 and went for a short drive. I was sitting at about 800* at 55mph. Had a pretty stiff headwind so who knows.

I'm not passing any judgement until I can put on a few more miles and give it a fair test.
