New Smarty Updates!!

I just noticed there are new updates for the S-04 and S-06 smartys! Does anyone have any idea what these new files do? Has anyone tried them? Could these be the long awaited 4. 3 or 4. 4 type updates?!!!

Just an FYI, I was told if you run these updates, you will no longer be able to run the beta programs!!! There is NO going back once you update the Chrysler software!!

Uh… Not to rain on anybodies parade, but I just uploaded the new Smarty software and now have some issues. I uploaded the new mild TQ for stock injectors/aftermarket turbo for the S04A. Upload went fine from my computer to the Smarty and I got the standard upload successful message. But after the upload was complete my screen was blank. It will usually display the new software version. I went out to my truck, plugged it in and nothing, screen still blank. I tried to re-upload the software again from my computer to Smarty and got a message stating, “Unable to connect Smarty or file not compatible. ”



Anyone else have similar results? So, my Smarty is down for now.

I hate being Smarty-less, hope Bob chimes in soon. . I’ve tried everything and my Smarty is just dead, a big no-go.

I Uploaded the Smarty updates that were put up on Oct. 5 and everything works great... . However my buddy has the same pickup as I do, with the same transmission upgrades and soforth, he recently had his ECM flashed at the local dodge dealership to make his tow/haul button an overdrive lockout. when the dealership completed the flash, his Smarty said "Error unknown software" We upgraded the smarty's after the dealership and still no success. Have not tried the newest updates yet they were posted to MADS website on Oct. 16. haven't downloaded the newest ones yet.

Warning on S04 Smarty updates dated Oct 16

I updated my S04 Smarty today around noon with the Oct 16 dated software for my truck. I use the stock injectors aftermarket turbo versions and as sid 325 says my Smarty also went blank and I can't seem to download any thing else. If anyone finds out what's going on please post here or start an updated thread.

About two weeks ago Bob posted a thread on TDR, stating that Chrysler came out with updates for their ECM. He also said that the Beta software that he gave out on an "ask for" basis had some problems. I am not sure what the problems were. However he did write in his post that if you had the Beta software there was going to be an update on the MADS website for you. He also said that Marco was working on some software for the new Chrysler problems. He ALSO cautioned us NOT to download any updates off of the Mads website for a few weeks. I was under the impression from the post that this meant the newest updates (I am guessing the ones Dated Oct. 16, 2007) and that the updates for the Chrysler ECM problems would be put up AFTER those updates. This is how I interpreted the post from Bob. That could explain why people are having problems with the newest software (Oct. 16, 2007)

Guess I missed the first message from Bob about the new updates. I just installed them Sunday night with no problems what so ever. I was a little worried since it was the first time I've downloaded from the MADS site but everything went smooth aside from the 30 minutes to finish. Anyway, I loaded SW3 and I can feel a difference already. I'm not sure what they did aside from the speed limiter but it feels alot more peppy. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I have no issues. I had updated my smarty to the new program and then tried to upload a beta program to it and it said it was an unknow program. So I still had on file an older software program, I uploaded it to my smarty and then tried the beta program and it worked find then.



So I think with the new programs you can't load any betas, but if you go back to a old file then load the beta it seems to work.



As far as it going blank, I'd start all over a try to reload from the begining.

I tried the trick Snoxracer suggested, but my Smarty is still showing a blank screen even trying the some of the older software. The Smarty still doesn't respond. I was under the impression just the beta versions would be blown away. I hadn't considered it affecting the regular programs.

Anyway, I emailed Bob today about the situation sid325 and I have with the blank screen, so maybe he'll check his email while at SEMA. I'll post back if anything new turns up.

:{ My Smarty is still dead with the blank screen and won't accept any other software downloads. As I indicated earlier I sent an email to Bob outlining the problem but haven't heard anything yet, (I know Bob and Marco are at SEMA). I thought Bob might be checking his email while gone.

sid325 have you discovered any way to unlock your Smarty or heard from Bob or Marco? I just thought I would bump this post back to the top so others might chime in.

I'd really like a Change Notes section added to MADS site. With details of what changed with each release. I don't see why it's a big secret. Every software vendor does this. IT would be nice to know that when you apply these new Chrysler updates, you'd be screwed to go back.



And the fact that 2 weeks ago this new software was released (tho posted on the 28th, good work with the dates there), and yet the fact that the version numbers are wrong, and the TQ management is wrong (the file for wild, is not wild, it's versioned as mild on the smarty screen, and it had moderate TQ management... . ). These files should be removed from the site or corrected. Sema or not, it's a large bug in the software, that should be priority



Yeah, they are at Sema. But yes, there there are computers in the USA and not just in Italy.



Sorry, but this is rather frustrating. It's a simple mistake, yet a large one.
