I saw on this sight a couple of years ago about a problem with starter contacts in the solenoid and after performing a search cannot find anyone who sells them. Can someone please give me an east coast address. Thanks Dave
If your starter has alot of miles on it, buy the contacts and plunger too. The starters are easy to rebuild. Take the whole thing apart and ck and repack the bearings also. Sure alot cheaper than buying a rebuilt starter... plus YOU know what was put into the unit
I bought a heavy duty contact kit from a guy at Hamilton Repair. It came w/contacts,plunger,spring and gasket. Cost 20. 00 or 25. 00 dollars plus shipping. Shipped very fast and the kit is a beauty. Contact him at -- email address removed --
Just got mine installed. Purchased from Fosters. Delivered to my door in 2-3 days for around 40. 00 with new contacts and plunger.
My old contact had worn down about 1/2 way on one of contacts with 96K miles. I figure this one should last much longer. Also, the plunger had hardly any wear.
Any rebuilder has these, they go in many different starters. Just ell them what you are looking for and they should have them in stock... no magic here just a normal part for the rebuilders
